Counting Crows

Two more images in what is fast becoming a series. There's something special about birds in the genus Corvus to which both crows and rooks belong. Certainly they are intelligent, with an ability to learn and overcome problems but they are mystical too, rather like the hare. Perhaps this is why Ted Hughes chose the crow to represent his inner being in so many of his poems. Anyway, I'm having great fun drawing them.

The Rook

Inspired by the poetry of Ted Hughes and a bike ride into Coverdale and Wensleydale yesterday where they (the rooks not Ted) were bouncing, hopping and goose stepping about the early spring meadows......PRINTS AVAILABLE.
