Time in the studio is precious at the moment and I’m spending a lot of time in self examination - self portraiture is that all too rare opportunity to study the same physiognomy and body over a long period of time. Far from being narcissism it's more a kind of resignation as I chart the ageing process and the visible beginnings of a (hopefully) slow physical decline or at least, change.
That could almost be a photograph! Great work.
ReplyDeleteWhat I particularly like is your expression - sort of raw and masculine, and curiously vulnerable. Resignation or narcissism aside :-), this is certainly impressive artwork.
